Phar 6200--Course description
This course is designed to help students become more informed on controversial healthcare issues surrounding prescription drugs within the US Healthcare System. Each week, students in groups will debate hot topic prescription drug issues, develop weekly written statements to communicate ideas, persuade others, and defend viewpoints related to the issues. Human choices and behavior impact societal decisions and availability of medications in the United States.  As pharmacists, participating in these discussions will not only foster new understanding of these issues through engaging, evidence-based debate, but also aid in understanding diverse perspectives driving the decisions patients may or may not be making.

Prerequisites for the course are Phar 6131, 3rd year Pharmacy student.

How would the course fit into my busy schedule?
This three credit course is entirely online and there is not a required textbook! While students are required to meet weekly assignment deadlines, students are not required to be on time at any given time! Course materials are available on the coursesite 24 hours a day. Many students find this course an engaging elective that fits well into a busy 3rd year schedule.
