Dr. Bumgardner, or “Dr. B,” as she is known by her students, is a pharmacist from Colorado. The majority of her pharmacy experience comes from the community (retail) pharmacy setting. Her goal in teaching is to create an environment where students can learn and retain knowledge, not just memorize facts for a test. She strives to make her teaching interactive and fun such that students can see the relevance of the content for their future careers. The most important things in her life are God and her family (AKA: “da Bums”, a wonderful husband and a beautiful little girl). It has been said that the way to her heart is through ice cream and cheesecake (lemon raspberry from the Cheesecake Factory). Since these treats are a bit harder to come by in Duluth (particularly the cheesecake), she settles for indulging on Goldfish crackers. Her door is always open with a full jar of candy on her desk to encourage students to stop by for a visit!
